Welcome Note from the Chair

Welcome to the Black Commissioned Officers Advisory Group Website!

BCOAG ChairGreetings BCOAG,

I would like to welcome new and returning members! It is my pleasure to serve as the 2012 Chair and I look forward to working with each of you.  It is my duty to ensure that BCOAG continues to advance its mission and operate efficiently adhering to the BCOAG governing documents.

The focus for this year is “Professional Development Through Meaningful Mentorship”. The primary goal is to expand mentorship opportunities among junior, senior, and retired BCOAG officers. Mentorship can support professional development and career advancement of BCOAG officers through shared experiences, lessons learned, and succession planning for leadership opportunities.

In addition to cultivating relationships through mentorship, I look forward to increasing officer participation in BCOAG community outreach activities such as the continuation of the New Orleans (NOLA) Mission and the 2012 COF PHS Service Project. These activities will afford us the opportunity to uphold the USPHS mission to protect, promote, and advance the health and safety of our Nation.

Looking back I am grateful for the dedication, vision, and hard work of the past BCOAG Chairs, Voting Members, Committee Chairs, and volunteers.  Moving forward I welcome everyone’s ideas and feedback to continue to strengthen BCOAG. I thank you in advance for your support and service and look forward to a productive year!

Respectfully,

LCDR Morrisa Rice
